We want to celebrate those whose work spark a passion for reading.
Once a year there will be a three-day celebration for the love of stories. Stories can create other worlds, convey emotions and ideas that regular textbooks just can’t. Stories can teach empathy, compassion and cultivate better understanding and different perspective and stir the wings of imagination.
Hosted by the University of the Western Cape; Heartlands Baby Sanctuary and Booktown Richmond, SA FESTIVAL OF CHILDREN’S LITERATURE will bring together dozens of South Africa’s best traditional storytellers as well as authors and illustrators of children’s literature (age 2-18), because we want to celebrate those whose work spark a passion for reading!
